His interest in Osteopathy developed during an international slalom canoeing career, competing at World and European Championship and World Cup races, where he had osteopathic treatment both for injuries and to help maintain the physical mobility required to compete at this level.
With a keen interest in treating sporting injuries, he also enjoys treating patients of all ages with work, stress or age related musculoskeletal problems.
Osteopathy deals with the structure and function of the musculoskeletal system. It seeks to find the underlying cause or causes of a patient’s problem and addresses not only the areas of concern but also the interconnected areas. It takes a whole body view in its approach to treatment. It is suitable for all ages and a wide range of conditions.
Osteopaths use a variety of non-invasive techniques including soft tissue massage on muscles, gentle mobilisation of joints, manipulation, cranial treatment, stretching and exercises. Treatment is always tailored to the individual and their particular problem.
